Archive of Patient's files of Istanbul Training, and Research Hospital are transferred into electronic environment by PaperWork, The hospital has decided on PaperWork application, which is the most experienced solution in Turkey. In the project managed under the system integrator role of EML company, PaperWork application is provided by G&G Soft, and service bureau scanning services by EML. At the end of project, approximately 20.000.000 pages of patient's files archive have been transferred into electronic environment.
Patient's files archived on PaperWork have been used by over 1000 user within the limits of authorization. This project has increased productivity of hospital archive operation.
Health personnel can access very fast to all documents in patient's files on PaperWork within limits of authorization from a single center over computer system. Since there will be no need to bring, and take back physical patient's files from archive, no time is wasted, and you can give better, and faster service to your customers.  The ASG group, which spread during the last 20 years throughout Turkey with the hospitals it founded, was seeking a solution to control their rapidly increasing archives. The aim was to manage the patient files and created documents, which increased parallel to the growth strategy of the group.
After studying several solutions, the ASG group decided to implement the PaperWork document filing and management system at all of its hospitals.

The Components of the Solution
As we take a look at the content of the patient file, we see that it consists of many documents of different types and sizes, which are created commonly in the hospital. Even if much of the information is in the Hospital Management application, an important part of the information is in a physical environment in the patient files. The health care personnel definitely need to see the patient file before performing any process.
The length of the time to access the patient files -which are in a physical environment- and the warranty of security are the most important problems. With the suggested solution, the time to access the documents for the hospital personnel was shortened much and the quality of the service has increased. The time and money cost for the delivery and collection of the patient files in the physical environment were terminated and the running cost of the archive was decreased. With this solution the ASG group saved an annual sum of 50.000 YTL on archive running costs.

 By the transfer of the patient files into a digital environment and their archiving and management of them on PaperWork in an electronic environment -a process implemented for the first time in a hospital in Turkey- American Hospital will save millions of YTL from the archive running costs in the following years. Since the patient files will be delivered to the hospital personnel via PaperWork, the time loss at seeking and delivering patient files will be eliminated.
