Kipaş Holding, active mainly in apparel, cement, paper and energy, uses PaperWork as its BPM software

Kahramanmaraş-based Kipaş Holding, which today brings together capable production operations in many different sectors, started out in 1984 with a focus on yarn production. In the following years it became one of Türkiye's largest companies in yarn weaving and denim fabric, and its main areas of activity now include cement, paper, energy and apparel. Kipaş Holding is present in retail with the Lee Cooper denim brand, in education with its schools, and also in the insurance and aviation sectors. Ranked in the ISO 500 list with 4 large facilities, Kipaş Holding never pauses its investments to sustain its production capabilities. Fehmi Hüdayioğlu, IT and Business Development Manager at Kipaş Holding, who joined the company in 2006, said they use PaperWork mainly as BPM, that is, business process management software. Hüdayioğlu described the journey that led them here and the reasons behind choosing PaperWork:
"In 2010 we started out with a different solution, developed many processes and began using them across the holding. But we could not move at the speed we wanted. At that time we had chosen a foreign software product, and it required a great deal of configuration. So at the end of 2017 we started looking for new software and decided to continue with PaperWork, a product with local support. Kipaş has an evaluation matrix with a long list of criteria. Its main categories are product functionality, technical features of the product, characteristics of the service provider, characteristics of the service team and, finally, cost. PaperWork came out far ahead in this matrix. PaperWork met our expectations with its technical features, and the company's approach was also important to us. We started migrating to PaperWork at the beginning of 2018 and launched our first processes on PaperWork in April 2018. In June 2018 we shut down the old system and fully committed to PaperWork. We can integrate with everything through web services. This integration capability also made the transition seamless for us."
It has become "indispensable" for employees
Kipaş Holding brings together large companies from different sectors, and work continues nonstop to roll out PaperWork workflow software across every part of the group. "Being able to integrate technically through web services is an important benefit, but our real challenge was to analyze business processes correctly and make sure they took hold among people and across the different departments of the company," said Fehmi Hüdayioğlu, noting that 23 different workflows are currently part of their business processes. The goal at Kipaş Holding is to expand this further. According to Hüdayioğlu, these 23 workflows were an important step and perform very important functions, and user adoption of these innovations is very high. In fact, given where they are today and the benefits achieved, employees and management at Kipaş Holding now come to the IT team asking for new workflows. "Although we have a 9-year history with BPM, we see that we really reached full capability after 1.5 years with PaperWork, and we hope more processes will become part of our work," Hüdayioğlu said, adding:
"Each department in each company of the holding has different needs and a different approach to technology. We have taken our first right steps and are now putting down roots. The solutions we developed first deliver targeted benefits to departments. Here, PaperWork's flexibility and solution-oriented nature create a foundation that can be modeled for every need of group companies operating in different sectors. PaperWork is a platform on which we can actually develop applications, modeled to fit our needs. We can also contact PaperWork whenever we need to. In fact, one of our corporate selection criteria was 'the service provider's approach and the support it can give us.' Frankly, PaperWork performs above our expectations here as well. When starting our projects, we aimed to develop the project while learning the software through on-the-job training. At first we received PaperWork support and consulting, but at this point, apart from asking for advice, we have little development-related contact with PaperWork. Looking at how much our employees use this structure, the fact that they call us right away to ask for a status update whenever the system has a possible hiccup shows that this architecture has become an indispensable part of our lives. Today, none of our users can tolerate any interruption in this system. This shows how strongly the PaperWork-based system has been adopted."
PaperWork Customer Services Manager Canan Ünverdi: "The synergy quickly bore fruit."
"Our success story begins with Kipaş Holding's search for a BPM software tool in 2017. In their research, the PaperWork platform stood out with its superior product features and the professionalism of its team, and at the end of 2017 the organization chose PaperWork. After the purchase, Kipaş Holding IT Director Fehmi Bey quickly organized his team and had them complete PaperWork training in 2018. The Kipaş Holding team began adapting its processes on PaperWork. Thanks to planned management of end users' adaptation to change, dozens of the organization's workflows now run on PaperWork. We are proud that the visionary approach of Kipaş Holding's senior management, Fehmi Bey and his team's ownership of PaperWork on their digital transformation journey, and the professional and harmonious collaboration between the PaperWork and Kipaş Holding teams turned the organization's digital transformation into a 'success story' in as little as 1 year. We are happy to be part of Kipaş Holding's digital transformation, and I hope our collaboration continues to grow with the synergy we have achieved."
